Re: Clothing for the UNLV game

I'm trying to decide if I should go out and buy a gold shirt on Friday before I fly out - I have some older ones, but they're all huge on me.

Does anyone know how much it's supposed to cool down after dark? I didn't know if I should bring layers.

Golden Rules. I was going to wear my CF shirt on the plane tomorrow but apparently I've put on some weight since I bought it

I'm embarrassed to say I don't have any new logo shirts and will be wearing an old Twister Cyclone logo.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, you're still a Cyclone fan, doesn't matter what you wear.

Absolutely. 75 degrees in the desert is similar to maybe 60 degrees here. Lived in San Diego for years, at night baseball games you would need a sweatshirt. At night it will feel colder than you expect it too.

Also: If anybody likes German food and/or beer, I highly recommend the Hofbrauhaus. You will be entertained and you will have a good time.

Do a show if you get a chance!!! There are all sorts of shows, some more affordable than others. Check for coupon books or fliers. Some great deals in there.

Guys: You didn't magically get so hot on the plane out there. If a woman approaches you and starts making moves on you, it is not real. She is a professional looking to get paid. Yes they work the hotels on their own a lot. Yes they do have a pimp nearby usually. Keep your eyes open, at least as much as you can after adult beverages. Las Vegas is the best people-watching place I have been too.

As for the Police in Vegas: In my experience, you have to do some pretty bad things before they show up. They are closer than you think, but if you are behaving somewhat reasonably, they will let you continue having a good time.

Oh, and hire a Limo from the airport. It is usually not very much more than a cab, and well worth the extra money. Traffic at times is horrible in Vegas. Also, if you are shuttling groups of people around, Limos are a better option than cabs. One limo ends up much cheaper than a couple cabs, and Limos are all over Vegas. Talk to your drivers too, as well as valets. They can tell you what to do, where to go, and also where not to go. They want to help you out and enjoy your stay so you come back again.

Final note: DO NOT GO TO THE BAD PART OF TOWN. There are spots in Vegas that are not safe at all. Very high crime rates in parts. Stay to busy areas that look tourist friendly. If a place does not look very safe, it is not.
