Best Italian place on the south side?

My gf and I were planning on going out friday night for supper, and we've always heard there were some really good Italian places on the south side, but we just never really get over there. We decided it was about time to try it out. Any recommendations?

Get out of the south side and drive a little further to Biaggi's or the Italian Bistro.

Biaggi's has amazing 15 dollar deals right now.

I certainly hope you are kidding suggesting Biaggi's over the real thing...

Highly recommended if you are looking for authentic Italian food. Be sure to have a Peroni with your meal if you do not like wine.

Biaggi's is one step above Fazoli's (in my opinion).

I was not impressed with Biaggi's. The service was terrible as well!

Is the down-stairs place on 4th downtown still open? That place is GOOD!

Biaggi's is no where near the real thing. It is good, but not authentic.

Another vote for Tumea and Sons... their pastacina is awesome. Also, Baratta's is very good.

I also agree that these places are (while not as new or fancy) much, much better than Biaggis.

I'll pile on with either Tumea and Sons or Baratta's, or you could go to the east side and go to Tursi's Latin King

Pay no attention to those who are telling you Biaggi's, that is not an Italian restaurant

    And it's dinner, not supper

No, Trattoria's I believe closed down early this summer when the flood went thru, and said they were not going to reopen.

Tumea & Sons is good, but Baratta's is the best! It is a nice romantic atmosphere which would be a great place to take the GF on a Friday night. I highly recommend Baratta's!!

Also, not on the South Side but not far away is The Latin King on E University. It is some very good Italian food too.
