I thought Kelly had mentioned this himself that a new contract was in the works at CMU. I guess I thought because he had mentioned this, he was out of the hunt to come to ISU. Lets all hope he signs the extention.

I wonder if he'd sign and then make someone buy him out. That would be rude.

I say we call Harbaugh back and BEG for forgiveness and let him have a shot.

Cyinco...you are right on! If we get beat out by Central Michigan, it will be an embarrasment. I want Harbaugh!

Kelly has a better resume and is much more qualified canidate then Harbaugh. Harbaugh would be a great fit for Central Michigan though!

I say we all trust JP. He hasn't done anything for us to doubt him at all yet. He's brought in two good possibly great coaches in B-ball and wrestling and there is no reason for us to doubt his judgement at all. Kelley may not be the most popular but he might be the guy that gets the job done. There is a reason JP is making the big bucks and decisions and we aren't. Rumor has it that Kelley is looking to bring Chuck Norris in as the DC. Nobody would score on the defense at all!

Re: CMU attepting to keep Kelly with new contract offer.

If JP let Harbaugh know he was no longer a candidate before a new coach was signed, then I'm guess JP decided Harbaugh wasn't the right fit for ISU. I know Harbaugh played in the NFL, but I'd like a head coach with a little more coaching experience.

To be honest -- After Greg McDermott called Pollard it was a no question that he should hire him. Why didn't Pollard contact GMac in the first place???

And second about wrestling, PLEASE. Any idiot knew that you had to do something to get Cael in the position. God, he is only 9847560938-0.

I never understood the orgasm over Pollard that has taken place in the last year. If anything he is just an AD that's anxious to turn something around so he can move on to bigger things, so he will spend and spend and spend until it gets done. If ISU wins, fine with me. Let's see who he hires as football coach before we crown Pollard.

If you want crown his ***, THEN CROWN HIM DAMNIT.

Re: CMU attepting to keep Kelly with new contract offer.

I heard about the contract extension offer but one needs to keep in mind that CMU could never come close to what ISU would be able to offer Kelly. I can only go from sources and comment on what I know but I would assume no offer would be accepted officially on paper since Geoffrey and Kelly are meeting tomorrow to talk money.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

When was the last time ISU had an AD that didn't just accept being average? ISU finally has somebody that wants to win and appears is willing to do anything and everything to do it! How can you not be excited about a guy like that? Why would he be planning a long term $130 million plan if he's wanting to move on in a few years? Chances are he's planning on sticking around for the long run if he's making plans like he's made and changes that he's made.

If Pollard thinks the fan base was split when McCarney was in charge, just what does he expect to happen if he hires this bozo?
