    Lamp for HDTV

Mine finally gave way after 3-years of being in college. Way surprised it even lasted this long with how many hours we have watched TV on it.

Does anyone have any experience buying replacement lamps for their TV and in doing so also installed the lamp themselves?

I have a samsung HL-S5086W and I wonder if any of you people have ordered the lamp off the internet and if you have, I'd like to know the website you ordered it from etc.

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure how much help this is, but I have heard the lamp replacement is a breeze. I need to replace the spinning mirror deal and that is more of a challenge.

    Re: Lamp for HDTV

    Hi Scottie,
I have a 50" Samsung DLP but I can't remember the exact model number right now, (I'm not at home). My lamp burned out pretty quickly and I replaced it myself, not real difficult, and it's been at least four years on the replacement bulb with no problems. I had the bulb sent to me since my TV was almost new at the time and it was under warranty but I think the price would have been about $300.

I have a 56" Samsung DLP. Pretty easy replacement, toughest part was getting behind the TV to fix it. Good Luck!

    Re: Lamp for HDTV

I just called samsung they forwarded me to Samsung parts & accessories, dlp lamps, remote controls, ac adapters, and chargers. in which I could select my model of TV and from there it went to the lamp parts for such model.

He also mentioned that I need to buy the lamp in the black box...if you do such a search you can see that.

The question that I need to know is that of if I need a lamp ballast with the lamp.

parts page link...Samsung parts & accessories, dlp lamps, remote controls, ac adapters, and chargers.

lamp link...Samsung parts & accessories, dlp lamps, remote controls, ac adapters, and chargers.

    Re: Lamp for HDTV

we found one for our Toshiba DLP @ Travvis Audio/Video. They had them in stock and the prices were roughly the same as the online dealers.
