    Thank you USC!!

For administering a first class beat-down on Ohio State. This should keep us from having another plodding pretender from the Big 11 in the BCS Championship game this year. The Big 11 is an absolutely pathetic FB conference right now...there is no question about it.

I saw on another thread that someone was making a point that to say Ohio State had no speed was incorrect. The poster pointed to a few guys on the team that have good speed. When people talk about speed they are talking about overall team speed...not the speed of a player or two. Clearly, OSU has a few guys that can run but their overall team speed is poor relative to USC...did you see the USC linebacker run away from the people chasing him on the interception/fumble return (I can't remember which it was) during the game Saturday night?

BCS Championship: USC vs. SEC Champion

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

The sad thing is that because the big 10 is so mediocre, OSU will probably still find a way to get into the national championship game

    .... undeservedly

    .... again.

Whats going to be the next deciding factor for football after everyone is "speedy". And yes, congrats to USC. Ohio State got exposed like no other.

I think Missouri has a legitimate chance for the Championship game if they can get by us in Jack Trice Stadium and win the Big 12 Championship undefeated.

I see no way this happens...OSU might run the table in the weak Big 11 but there is no way they get back to the Championship, even if they do this.

Even Herbstreit had to admit it looked like the Varsity (SC) vs. the JV (OSU) on the field.

    They won't beat OU.

    Re: Thank you USC!!

I will make the guarantee that the only way Ohio State makes it to the big game will be if everyother team in contention (minus the team they'd play) has 2 losses.

I also think Penn State or Wisconsin will win the little 11 this year.

I am actually pretty concerned about this myself. I think OSU will likely run the table in the big 10 again. And I am worried that the other potential contenders will get tripped up somewhere. I don't know if OU or Mizzou ran make it through the Big 12 without issue. And I don't see anybody getting through the SEC untouched either. USC should finish out no problem, they get all of the "tough" Pac 10 games at home.

And once again we run into the same problem we have the last few years: it is better to lose early than to lose late. OSU will have this early loss, while all the other one loss teams looking for a shot at the title will have lost later in the season, perhaps in late season rivalry games or conference championship games. They will take a hit in the polls as OSU sits at home with no conference title game to worry about, and once again they will have a great shot to slip into the title game. And as we witnessed against USC, OSU and the big 10 will be exposed once again in yet another laugher of a national title game.

    *end rant.

It's quite possible actually. It's going to be hard for Big XII and SEC teams to run the table, and then they have to play a championship game as well. Run the table in the Big 10 and not having to play an extra game, favors that conference in the way the BCS is decided.

Yet every year lately they get upset - last year Stanford (????) and the year before Oregon State and UCLA (????). I'm not ready to annoint the Trojans yet.

I'd like to see OU play a formidable opponent before crowning them.

    And no, Washington doesn't count.

Well, perhaps Cinncy - but I'm not high on them as some are.

I'm interested to see if TCU gives 'em any trouble on the 27th.

    Re: Thank you USC!!

I think that it could be the Big 12 champ in the national champ if someone can get through with no losses.

The same thing can be said about the SEC.

But what happens if the SEC, BIG 12 and Southern Cal all end up undefeated. The big 12 and SEC would be ****** that they had to play a harder schedule but one of the two didn't play in the BCS champ.

Those who are in favor of the playoff (which I am not) may get their ammunition this year (with a big if that 3 teams go undefeated)

The major thing that OSU can use is that they didn't have Wells in the game, not that it would have made a lick of difference.

If OSU runs the table in the weak big11, I can see them still having a slight chance. The SEC always plays each other tough which seems to create a championship team with 1 or 2 losses, and Mizzou has to contend with OU and others. USC seems to have trouble closing out the season with all of the rivalry games, (Stanford, UCLA, etc.) Plus, OSU doesn't have a conference championship game to worry about.

If OSU have only one loss to championship caliber team, without their best player, I could see the BCS giving them another shot (only to get rolled, AGAIN).
