    good over the stove microwave?

Anyone have an over the stove microwave they are really happy with? Our Samsung died last night and it was only 3 years old. I was always disappointed in the way the "special features" were not very special and usually did not work. Any brand recomendations? Anyone have an LG over the stove microwave. I saw one at Home Depot that looked really cool, but have read some bad reviews on line.

That surprises me because I've heard nothing but good things about LG products. We got all Maytag, including over the stove micro, when we bought our new house and I would *not* recommend them.

How fancy do you want to get? We have a Kenmore microwave/convection oven that goes over the stove that we're pretty happy with. We almost never fire up the oven anymore. We've only had it about a year, the interface isn't intuitive, and it's pricey.

I've got a Kenmore. Had it almost 2 years now. It is functional.
If I were looking for one now, I would try finding one with a convection function. Supposedly, it is more similar to cooking food in the oven rather than the microwave.

I have an Amana I put in back Jan '02.

Like it just fine. Gets the food hot and everything.

I had always heard great things about LG too. A lot of the complaints about the LG I looked at were that the button on the controls stopped working. I guess I can see how this could be a problem with this model because the buttons are mounted on the door instead of a side panel.

Can't give specific recommendations, but my parents GE appliances have been rock solid for as long as I can remember. The ones they replaced during the two remodels of the kitchen worked just fine when they pulled them out, they just needed different models/styles.
