    Some things I noticed

I think our 8-man rotation is pretty much settled or make it 9-man with Jiri coming back. Taylor is a stud. Period. Can create on his own. The Man. Our Go-to Guy. Too many TO's but if he didn't have any he should skip to the NBA. Clark is solid and playing within the system (nothing but admiration for the way that dude has bought into GMac's system) Gray looked decent. Wesley Johnson is an EXCELLENT freshman. Cory Johnson gave us some good minutes. McIntosh was okay but actually felt better with Dunson in there. Dunson gave us some great minutes and good D. McIntosh might have a little trouble due to his size when we get to league. Couldn't get his shot off a few times and got trapped also. Ross Marsden has a warm body and okay to start him but not too many minutes please.

Noticed Brock Jacobsen didn't play. He is just not athletic enough defensively or offensively when we play the tough opponents. Glad GMac knows this and didn't put him in that position.

What can you say about GMac except that the guy knows how to win!! We pulled that one out of the hat. Couldn't believe that somehow Minnesota got out of their game plan of pounding it to Tollacksen.

    Great Win!! Go Clones!!

That's the difference between Mac and Morgan. Last night was all about Mac and his adjustments, something we haven't done all thru last year.

We may see Jacobsen more against teams that play more zone. Last night was not a good game for him to be in, too many athletes on the floor for Minnesota.

    Re: Some things I noticed

I actually got to see this game on satellite and was really impressed with the grit of this team to not fold in when the deficit approached double digits, while on the road. Not to bash Morgan, he seemed to be a nice enough guy, but the future of ISU hoops is enormously brighter with GMac. I'm especially ecstatic to see man2man defense again. I'm not sure how far this years team will go, b/c there will be roadbumps, but just how they've played together so far tells me a lot about GMac and his coaching ability. Granted, at times Taylor reminds me of the "likes to shoot" guy we are all familiar with when playing pick-up ball, but when the trey's keep splashing the net, I won't complain.

Do we not get Minn. at the hilton next year?

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

I think so, yeah. Hmm...I'm supposed to graduate in December. We better play them in November again otherwise I'm going to have to find a way to prolong my graduation

I like Gray's game. Not sure what you have against him. He had some huge baskets late against Minny.

    Re: Some things I noticed

I would guess that Ross starts because he is the only true center on the team. Gray is a good player, but isn't exactly your typical post player. I'm pretty comfortable that GMAC will help Ross develop, and playing time helps that.

Any ball player can come up with some baskets in a game, what he does in between really bothers me... maybe I just focused on him too much during the Minny game, but he was out of position on defense a handful of times, allowing points easier than should be.

    Re: Some things I noticed

I think Ross starts because his defense is better. Gray is miles ahead of Ross on the offensive end, but seems to be a liability at times on defense.

I don't think Ross will ever fill it up from the post, but I think he can be a solid player on the team. The best sign is that he put on a ton of weight in the off-season and is still only a sophomore. I can only imagine what our post players will look like in two years when Ross and Thompson (sp?) are in their last year of eligibility, W & C Johnson are Juniors, and Brackins is a Sophomore.

    Re: Some things I noticed

Marsden is the only 5 on the team. Hubalek will play some 5 when he gets back and Marsden's minutes will be cut, but Jiri came to school as a 4 that shot the 3 well at MCC. Gray is a 3/4 that shoots the ball well and is a good transition player for his size. He is not a terrible defender, but he has never been a player asked to guard the other teams 5. That is like asking Kevin Garnett to be a primary 3 point shooter. It just isnt a good fit. Gray is far from a bad player but is being forced into changing his role and is adjusting.
