Two things we have not seen much of yet

4 and 5 WRs. Just think how much speed and talent can be on the field if we go 5 wide. We saw it some last year but not much this. Iowa has a problem defending this so look for it Sat.

Our D Blitzing. We didnt blitz much until Iowa last year either. Look for it Sat for a lot of reasons: new qb, poor line, our front 4 needs help with pressure, Iowa has a new center?, and not much experence at the RB spot for Iowa.

I actually expect a lot of Clone criss crossing receivers for the game......if Shaggy can hit five, Grant can go for ten FGs.

CFH HMagic bball season next year.

Or we could just convert in the red zone....

I have been wondering why we dont spread the field to set up our run either. Seemed to be working against us with Kent State...why dont we do it too?? 2 tightend set just allow other team to plug up the middle of field.

I personally hope we never kick a field goal. I want all touchdowns. We had potential for 35 points if our team was able to finish drives last year. This year, the team looks a lot stronger inside the red zone.

Why show more than you have to when the game is in hand. Chizik knew what game was next, he wasnt going to show Iowa anything he didnt have to. We are also young at some key spots and it will take time to open things up.

I don't think we'll blitz that much. Need the secondary to control the run.

I agree. I think we put as many players in the box as needed to stop the run. Force them to throw and put the pressure on a young QB who has never played in a game against an actual college team.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

I sent a student in the hallway for a few minutes today because he is an Iowa fan and tried to tell me over and over that Iowa really won the game last year cause they at least scored a touchdown...and we only scored on FG's...I tried and tried to explain to him that total points are what decides a game, but he just didn't understand. He's in JH btw.

Also, before people start freaking out, I didn't actually make him go in the hallway for that, but he wouldn't quit arguing and was disrupting the rest of the class as I was giving them instructions on a lab we were doing...

Re: Two things we have not seen much of yet

We have played 2 fluff games so far with a limited play book... I didn't start following college football until I got to college but even I grasp the concept of a closed play book until a game that matters...

The game I watched left me wanting to see more but I expecto... this weekend and in a few weeks when we start Big XII play. Why pull out plays that work against Iowa before we play them so they can prepare for it if we don't need to?

    Patience people... patience

Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State,
and may her colors ever fly!!!
