    Klipsch Speakers

I have been thinking about upgrading my home theater speakers to Klipsch brand satellite speakers and a sub. The satellites that I am thinking about are the Quintet IIs and a 12 inch powered sub. Does anybody have any advice on these speakers or any comments?

I put in the Klipsch in wall / ceiling speakers in my basement, they sound pretty good.

    Re: Klipsch Speakers

    Good brand.

I don't know how much you're looking to spend but you may want to check out Elemental Designs for your subwoofer. They are a local company(newton) but they have a real strong following nationally. Even there cheap ones are good Elemental Designs

If I was you I would go to AVS Forum to the speaker section and say "here is how much i have to spend, what should I get".

We have a pair that are either floor/wall mountable. Love 'em. My opinion aside, you won't find a better speaker than anything Klipsch.

    Re: Klipsch Speakers

I got a set of quintets a couple yrs ago. Love em.

I also got the klipsh sub. Although I think it's blown or the fuse is bad. Doesn't sound right and cuts in and out when I turn the fuse holder.

Awesome brand. Have a couple F-2's I believe is what they model is - had 'em for over a year now. Will be upgrading the center and rear speakers to Klipsch eventually.

Also - I got 'em at Best Buy - but saved $100 via buying them online and doing store pickup. Went right back to the same store that had 'em priced for $100 more.

I couldn't agree with this advice more. The community over at AVS Forum is about as educated as it gets. There is a ton of good advice to be had over there for all issues relating to audio or video equipment.

    Re: Klipsch Speakers

It really comes down to what you want to spend and the size of your area. In each price category there are favorites. I used to buy all NHT speakers but now I'm leaning more towards Axiom and Paradigm. There are a lot of good speakers out there and there is really only one brand that I would stay away from and there name rhymes with blows.

I absolutely LOVE our Bose speakers. I've never had a set of speakers that sounded as great as they do, especially in the tiny little box they sit in!

I have a couple of Athena F-2s that I love. They are cheaper, but get ratings up there with the big boys. I got them dirt cheap as floor models.

As long as you like them that's all that matters.

    Re: Klipsch Speakers

If I was going to buy the speakers separately from the sub to avoid spending a such a large amount at once, should I buy the sub first or the speakers?

This depends on what you're doing.

Do you have an A/V receiver already?

I would probably go in this order.

    Front two main speakers
    Subwoofer
    Center speaker
    Surround

I would make sure to get the same brand of speakers but the sub maker can be different.
