    Do a survey of the same students after 1 year of college and see if they are still going to the same school for their 2nd year.

    Not sure what you mean by this... if these are the top graduates in the state, they're most likely going to be staying in school.

    It doesn't, it just happens to be the top-ranked out-of-state destination, so it's the only non-Iowa school in the top 10.

    It normally seems like the better students are more committed to the school that they chose. I think that part of the reason is because they do a better job at researching before plunging in.

    I find it interesting that more top scholars are going to UNL/UNO than are going to Minnesota, KU, Wisconsin, or Illinois. Besides pharmacy I wasn't aware that Neb. had any strong programs. Someone care to enlighten me?

    My guess is that would again be due largely to proximity. With Omaha right over the border and Lincoln not that much further, I'd imagine they get a good chunk of students out of western Iowa.
