Ferentz: Good coach? Or can't even pick a QB?

As I've observed Hawk fans over the years, I've noticed something funny. Even the ones who think Ferentz is an awesome coach (a dwindling number, to be sure) don't think twice about criticizing his choice in starting QBs. Even to the point of booing to make this point (Banks, Christenson).

So to this group of fans, I've gotta say: make up your mind. Either Ferentz is a good coach, or he isn't even able to judge his QB talent better than the average fan at Kinnick. You can't have it both ways.

Just something that's been bugging me.

Bravo- Kirk Ferentz is still a God to most Hawk fans despite the fact(s):1. He totally whiffed on 2 consecutive recruiting classes despite 3 consecutive top 10 finishes. 2. Most fans hate their offense. 3. Half their fans hate the starting QB (no matter who it is) 4. He is a poor judge of player's morals. 5. He is soft on player discipline. 6. He has trouble beating lowly ISU. 7. He makes $3.2M and his son took a low rent housing space from some one who needed it. 8. He makes $3.2M and he barely cracked .500 the last 3 years. But, hey I guess he can't control ANY of those things. Therfore hs is still a god in the eyes of most Hawk fans.

And yet MAC was still a GOD at ISU?? This post is dumb, pretty much everything you said about IOWA fans and their feelings towards Ferentz you could say about ISU fans and their feeling about McCarney, well except the whole beating his wife stuff!

    You stay classy ISU!

    Psst.

D-Mac never was handed the type of cash KF has been given. And outside of abusing his wife many years ago - his morals were never really in question.

But go ahead and continue to deflect the Iowa underachievement. It's so cute.

The fact that Ferentz started Stanzi Saturday to me was almost an "anti-Ferentz" kind of move. Even talked to some Hawk fans who were shocked because they assumed Kirk with stick with Jake till they started losing before making a switch.

It's not like playing a different guy to see what he could do was much of a risk. They played FIU...not FSU.
