Where are the people in the good seats?

I've noticed over the first two games that the seating areas on the east side of the stadium, between the 40 yard lines, haven't been full. Isn't that area for family and mega-donors? From my vantage point, it appears there are about 100 open seats in those areas...

    Anyone else notice this?

I believed in Gene Chizik and all I got was this lousy limited-edition commemorative coin.

I've noticed it as well, and its quite irritating to me. If you're going to spend all that money on the donations and tickets, why in the world would you let those seats go to waste? At least give them to a friend, or sell them on ebay or something. Empty seats right in the middle of the lower levels are very discouraging to see.

Could it be not all of those seats were sold?

Re: Where are the people in the good seats?

I noticed that in the gold-backed seats on the west side today too. Not that they weren't full initially, but they emptied out in the 3rd quarter. I do think those are usually a lot of "corporate donor" seats, so someone gets their company's tickets for the game and figures "what the heck, I'll go but I'm not staying late". Either that, or those were Ken Miller's seats.

I'm pretty sure they mostly fill-up shortly after game time. But they are gone early. As has been said, most likely corporate donor seating.

Re: Where are the people in the good seats?

There are at least 3,000 seats in the $5,000 donation required sections and close to 4,000 seats in the $2,500 donation required sections -- all lower level between the 40's. Most likely a lot of those seats have not been sold.

    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

Those aren't the "good seats". The "good seats" are 50yrd line first few rows of the balcony, but that is a whole different discussion

I agree, but will extend it even further to people leaving at half time and not coming back until 5-10 minutes are gone in the 3rd quarter. I am tired of people either not showing up who have seats or those that can't go 3 hours with out a beer. This has to be a real let down for our guys coming back in to the stadium to start the 2nd half.

I can only see the west side, but thought last night was much better than the first game. I didn't notice it empying out too much until 4 minutes left in the game. I thought our fans did a great job last night, I wish the Iowa game was at home next week, it would have been very electric!

Re: Where are the people in the good seats?

Not sure why they were empty at the early point. However, they did end up filling in ok from what I saw.

I am sure the seats were sold, there were many Captains and Victory level that were not give an chance to upgrade, so it is not very likely these seating areas were left open.

They are indeed corporate seats. That is the prob with night games, people are not going to stay late.

Re: Where are the people in the good seats?

From the east side and what I saw, there were a good number of the seats that never filled in.

But as long as their sold - whatever. The people in these seats are also the ones who others continually complain about not standing through the whole game. Maybe they're tired of that?
