Holding call was the wrong call???

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2670044

Hope this isn't old news but I just saw this on ESPN's front page...

Big XII admitted that officials blew the holding call to cost Mizzou the win. Pinkel is livid!

I haven't seen the replay but he has a point that it's a rare call on the 1 yard line...Interesting...

Re: Holding call was the wrong call???

holding call was proper Big12 is smoking crack.

it was a blatent hold and the right call. dont care if the linemen let go the damage of the blatent hold was done.

no holding whatsoever and Daniels is sacked no TD

respect for Big12 officiating fading fast.

can someone find email addresses for big12 officiating. saw the replay on tv myself. want to see it availible online soon.

need a clip of that hold for the idiots at big12 to see.

no apologies. goal line short yards and you hold like that wtf do you need for a valid hold call does the defender have to run 5 yards into the backfield with a olinemen being dragged as the QB is running out the back of the end zone. get the hell out of here.

Yea, I don't get this. This was obvious, Big 12 says they screw up, which they didn't.

Flynn's catch against Nebraska was obviously a touchdown, Big 12 screws up, then says they made the right call.

Obviously they just suck. All there is too it.

    Good to hear...

As an opposing coach I guess I would do anything in my power to deny the fact that I just lost to Iowa State! Haha...

Re: Holding call was the wrong call???

I've been watching the play over and over again (recorded the McCarney show). I see an obvious hold, their right tackle on Moorehead. Without it Moorehead finishes the tackle McKenzie started three yards short of the goal line. Their tackle is head and shoulders behind Moorehead with his right arm across his shoulder/chest/neck.

They called the hold on their right guard? Holding McKenzie. Take your pick.

I strongly disagree with the 40 times a game comment. Weird deal.

Re: Holding call was the wrong call???

Wow! The Big XII office must have an agenda against ISU. They can honestly uphold the Blythe and Flynn calls in the Nebraska game and then claim a holding call shouldn't have been called.

They don't dispute that a hold occurred just that it shouldn't have been called. I guess the Big XII office didn't properly communicate to the officiating crew that if the opponent is ISU you must ignore holding by the opponent. This really pisses me off.

Re: Holding call was the wrong call???

the thing that really bothers me is Daniels barely made it into th endzone before fumbling. It doesn't take much of a hold when it is that close. Can someone post a clip of this non-hold?

I was pretty close to on the goalline, and it looked to me like he fumbled before he even got in.

Cotlar said something to the effect that you don't call holding on 4th and goal at the one. Of course he is a Missouri homer. So what he is saying is that the offense should be able to do anything they want to do and hold as much as they want in that situation. What a bunch of BS!

Missouri won't drop this Pinkel is saying on the radio down here in KC that they are 8-3. That is just classless. Again the refs never said there wasn't a hold they just shouldn't have called it there which makes them look worse.

Jason Whitlock is slamming pinkel in today's KC star. He has never been a fan of the mizzou coach. Pinkel is really coming across as a bad loser over this.

    http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansas...s/16063159.htm

“We held (Iowa State) in the fourth quarter … drove 80 yards and won the game,” Pinkel said.
Really? Not by my recollection. Not by the Big 12 standings.
In the final minutes, the Cyclones drove to the Missouri 2. Iowa State coach Dan McCarney got cute and called a pass play on third and goal. Why? Maybe he felt sorry for Pinkel. Maybe Iowa State’s scout-team tailback, Ryan Kock, was tired and didn’t have the energy to tack on rushing yards 180 and 181.
Whatever the cause, the Cyclones ran a stupid play, and their quarterback got sacked. Bret Culbertson then botched a chip-shot 28-yard field goal that would have given the Clones an eight-point lead."
