    Re: Sam McGuffie

Took a visit to ISU. True freshmen RB. Lots of us followed his recruiting.

The 6-foot-0, 190-pound McGuffie sees a lot of potential at Iowa State with head coach Gene Chizik behind the wheel of the Cyclones heading into the 2007 season. Chizik is a big reason why McGuffie has Iowa State high on his list.

"He knows what he is doing," said McGuffie. "He's a great coach, very accomplished and if he wants to get something done, he's going to do it. He tells people he's going to shock the world and he just might do it. There's no doubting what he can do."

Throughout the recruiting process, McGuffie has started to develop a strong relationship with the Iowa State staff and believes in what they are putting together in Ames. He sees himself as someone who could be a big piece to that puzzle.

"I like Coach Chiz, Coach [Jay] Rodgers – everybody's cool up there," McGuffie said. "They are going to try and run the ball and they said they need a guy that can come in and get things rolling on the offensive side of the ball and make things happen so they can get Iowa State football to where it should be and where it could be."

McGuffie plans a summer visit to Iowa State before making a decision that he hopes can get done before the end of the summer. Having connections at the school also looks like it could pay off for the Cyclones.

"I've got some friends that are going to go there – Kelechi Osemele and Jerrod Black. We're real good friends," McGuffie said. "There's a girl who runs track at my school that is going to Iowa State. I know her and have been her friends for awhile. She's pretty fast."

Wow. I would have never guessed that a girl who runs track in college is pretty fast.

226 million dollar stadium upgrades at Michigan. I have donor envy.

    Re: Sam McGuffie

Yeah I saw him out there.....he looks a little lost. I guess that is to be expected of a freshman RB playing at the Big House.

(as I was writing this he got a nice screen for 23 yds)

    Re: Sam McGuffie

He would have been a great get. But I'm still pretty happy with our RB situation.

There was a lot of talk that he wanted to go where his girlfriend was going. And his girlfriend was supposedly going here, so that's when the rumors got hot and heavy. He would have been one of our top rated recruits ever...

He has two carries for -4 yards in the first half. Long of 1.

    Re: Sam McGuffie

I could mention that we host Utah in two years...but that's decidedly off topic.

How about--"If McGuffie transferred here, he'd get another shot..."

    Re: Sam McGuffie

He just fumbled on the 10 yard line setting Utah up again... I'm sure he'll be a good back but isn't showing much in his first game.

have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.

So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough?

    Re: Sam McGuffie

I saw him on TV in HS and wasn't sure if his game fit college at running back. He's athletic enough to get on the field but think of Reggie Bush in the NFL.
