    Hawks lose by 30

    Paradise Jam 3rd Place Game
Villanova 89 (originally posted as 90...officials must have reversed a 3-point call at the end...good thing, it really mattered)
    Iowa 60

Haluska rebounded nicely from his dismal showing yesterday and scored 18. But future NBA Lottery Pick Lock Tyler Smith only managed a dozen. 6-7 forward Curtis Sumpter dropped in 26 for Nova.

Villanova lost to Xavier yesterday by 5.

I sure hate to see the black and gold get pasted. Oh wait...no I don't.

Haluska had a great 3 game performance:

    vs. Toledo
    fg: 2-15
    3ptr: 2-8
    pts: 10

    vs. Alabama
    fg: 2-13
    3ptr: 0-9
    pts: 4

    vs. Villanova
    fg: 5-13
    3ptr: 1-3
    pts: 18

    3 game average
    fg: 3-13.6
    3ptr: 1-6.6
    pts: 10.66

    You can keep him!

Don't laugh too loudly. We have a steep hill to climb ourselves, once the conference season starts. Inexperienced Cyclones + Big Twelve caliber opponent + road game = potentially lop-sided loss. Hopefully good defense will help minimize this possibility.

Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man.

I agree 100%...we could very easily come back down I-35 with a double-digit loss. But I live in Hawkeyeville and I am force-fed the black-and-gold turd around here on a daily basis. I just have to jump up and down when they lose. It helps lessen my frustration over ISU getting no press, no respect, no nothing around here.

I hear ya, grew up down there...I didn't see anyone saying we're going to be that great this year but it doesn't mean we can't enjoy a traitor's bad loss during his senior season.

Tyler smith is not that fricken good. He is not even first round material. Hawks actually get a 4 star recruit and they think he is the next Kobe Bryant. Classic!!!!!

I heard he perfected cold fusion during a timeout and ended world hunger at half time.

Actually, he should be a very good one for them. I just get a kick about how they over-hype some of their newcomers.

I forgot Curtis Sumpter is back...If only Nova had him last year, so someone in their starting lineup woulda been over 6'3"

    Haluska scores 118

The box score in the Rag. had Haluska scoring 118 points. If the team got 60 and he scored 118 the rest of the players must have played really bad to lose 58 points.

He must be a good defensive player, though. He is tied for the team lead in Steals with Henderson.
