MN, tOSU, OU, NB and CU games apparently not on in Eastern Iowa

    http://www.cyclones.com/ViewArticle....&ATCLID=694037

According to the website, its KCRGHD only, which means unless you've got an HD set or FullCourt in Eastern Iowa, you're listening to the game on the radio.

Re: ISU-MN game not on in Eastern Iowa

I also emailed Iowa State and they said these games would be on KCRGHD, but apparently not KCRG:

Either KCRG or KCRG HD is showing all games listed on the Cyclone Television Network.

Here is a list of dates where the game will be shown on KCRG HD only:
    Nov. 21 (@ Minnesota)
    Dec. 19 (@ Ohio State)
    Jan. 10 (vs. Nebraska)
    Jan. 17 (@ Colorado)
    Feb. 13 (vs. Oklahoma)
    Feb. 21 (vs. Colorado)
    Feb. 28 (@ Nebraska)

All other games will be shown on regular KCRG. Please check Cyclones.com for the story previewing each game for up-to-date information or call Athletics Communications at 515-294-3372. Thanks and hope this helps.

Re: MN, tOSU, OU, NB and CU games apparently not on in Eastern Iowa

I posted this in another thread as well, but thought I would add it here as well.

    Randall,
Iím not sure where you are getting your information, but itís not correct. Tonightís game is the only game that will be broadcast on KCRG-DT. However, the game will also be available to all Mediacom Digital Cable customers on channel 109. Anyone with an analog set who subscribes to Mediacom digital cable will be able to watch the game. Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,
    John Phelan

Well, the ISU woman who emailed me back lied to me then. That makes me feel better.

No chance of this game being on Mediacom?

You still have to have digital cable, it looks like, but it's not anywhere near as bad with it being only one game.

I wouldn't say no question, things have weird ways of just showing up on the connections channel here in eastern Iowa....

I don't know about you guys, but I can never get channel 109 to work...

Do you have digital cable? It doesn't seem like you should be required to have it for that, but you are. Mediacom is nice in a lot of things they do, but backwards in some things as well.

Need to get HD signal apparently. It is worth it for $5 a month from Cox. Actually with Cox they show it on their own Channelk 2 in lo def. Cox is good.

Re: MN, tOSU, OU, NB and CU games apparently not on in Eastern Iowa

I emailed the KCRG engineers about this "KCRG-HD" thing this morning. Following is the reply I got. You DO NOT need an HDTV to view the game, however you DO need a digital TV tuner. Some newer TV's have them built in and therefore only require rabbit ears. Normal analog TV's will require a seperate digital tuner that outputs an analog signal. The picture won't be HD, but will be at least as good as a regular rabbit ear picture. I posted more info about this stuff in another thread in the ISU General section - http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...ead.php?t=3598

    John,

We are indeed showing it on our 9.2 digital sub channel. The American Music Awards will be on our main channel 9.1 but the Iowa State game will be in standard definition on 9.2 and not upconverted to 720P. You will be able to pick it up over the air with an ATSC digital tuner.

I hope this helps to answer you question,

    Thanks,

    Kirk Schroeder
