    Re: Rivals Bowl Predictions

First off there is no way that you will ever see Iowa in a Motor City Bowl because they travel well enough to convince dumb bowl committees to jump them over teams. Second Kansas State in a bowl game?

Yeah. I'm surprised they picked K-State to make a bowl game over A&M. I don't think A&M will be great, but I would think they would make a bowl game before K-State.

Who in the ACC do you see going in over Clemson?

Actually, it can. And probably will. Regardless of the Big 12's credentials. The media will jump at the chance to anoint any Big Ten team to a BCS bowl, regardless of clear evidence that suggests otherwise.

Well, Tommy Bowden is still their coach, so I think they odds are definitely against them. Clemson doesn't exactly have a great track record for living up to expectation. Off the top of my head I would say BC, Wake, VT, maybe UVA all have just as good a shot as Clemson.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see UNC start making some noise this year in the ACC.

    Re: Rivals Bowl Predictions

Your right. A 7-5 Iowa Team will go over any team from the Big 10 other than Mich, OSU, Penn St and Wisky. That one year was a fluke that Iowa jumped Michigan. Iowa should be lucky to have North Teams that are not directly located by all the good bowls. I bet Purdue would bring a ton of fans if they were located 2 hours from the Alamo bowl. That is what ISU is competing with. We could bring 25,000 fans, but Texas Tech would bring 30,000 because its a drive. That is why California and Florida bowls are a better chance for us.

    Re: Rivals Bowl Predictions

I just don't see SC in the title game. Yes they have a really good defense, but from all accounts their offensive line is in shambles. That doesn't bode well for new qb Sanchez, who has had offseason health issues. I think OU is better than SC....I want to see them put it together in a big bowl game for the first time in a long time though.

You're right - I glossed over Missouri somehow. Even so, can't see two B11 teams in the BCS.

If that is the scenario then I like our chances - we would bring thousands that would stay in hotels for a couple of nights, more meals, gas, drinks etc... Many of the TT making the drive may not stay in San Antonio more than one night.
