Re: SI Article on "Package Deals"

When I saw the phrese "package deals" in the title I thought the NCAA meant ticket packages like the Applebee's thing, LOL.

It wouldn't surprise me if that ****** them off as well tho..

Re: SI Article on "Package Deals"

Well, its essentially "buying" players. However, as they state in the article, I see this as being very difficult to enforce.

Especially when teams like Kansas do it. Because if they enforce it on the Baylors of the world, they will have to enforce it on the Kansases of the world.

To be fair, the article did mention 2 instances where Kansas did this exact thing. But its not surprising that the main focus of the article was Baylor.

Re: SI Article on "Package Deals"

This spring, the NCAA created a three-person group that will be devoted to monitoring and enforcing compliance in men's basketball. This is an unprecedented move that reflects a growing concern inside the NCAA that the sport is not being conducted ethically.
Ugh. The NCAA does not conduct itself ethically. The stench of their hypocrisy is pungent.

"We got like three guys working on this thing..."

Good job, NCAA... You are almost as bad as the International Olympic Committee.

How do they hope to stop this exactly? Ban fathers/coaches from being coaches on their kid/players team?

Re: SI Article on "Package Deals"

Nothing will ever change. We will keep seeing this with legit programs with coaches that have no class aka..Bill Self, Scott Drew, Bob Huggins. Unfortunately those are the first that came to my mind and all happen to be either B12 or previous B12 coaches. It's sucks that we have to compete with **** like this.

Here we are all complaining, at the same time that Chizik has hired the Reedley JC head coach--and his star player is visiting this weekend.

Does this mean that we hired Mac to get his son?
