    You be the coordinator

When Bates comes into the game, assuming there isn't a field position issue, what would the first play you call be? I would put him in the gun and let him chuck it deep, as the D will be expecting a run.

    Re: You be the coordinator

I like that line of thought. An option pass might also be nice to draw the defense in before throwing deep.

Put him in the shotgun and run some sort of option play out of a spread set, so he can get on the edge and use his ability.

I put him in the slot and run him in motion to the wide side of the field, then run a post pattern.

    Re: You be the coordinator

If I were the coordinator I would run an option to the strong side but then PB drops back/fakes the option and bombs it to Sed Johnson who is running a fly down the sideline.

Yep. I'm calling the "Speed Option" the first time I bring him into the game.

    I removed it.

I'm calling a Zone Read play to A-Rob because we should be manhandling thier d-line all night long.

    Re: You be the coordinator

I'd like to see him do some sort of roll to the wide side, looking for a pass but with the availability for him to run it.

But since I don't think he threw a single ball last season - I imagine it'll be the same and some sort of designed draw.

Quick kick ala Randall Cunningham back in the day. The D will never see it coming.

Kneel. The game will be out of reach by then.

I'd probably do the same thing. Let him get in, hand it off a few times, get into the flow of the game, then let him start making some short throws to get his confidence up. But what do I know.

Screen pass to A-Rob. Have him complete a couple relatively easy ones to get him in the flow.

Edit: Bryce beat me to it.

    +1

Then, run the Statue of Liberty play. Followed by a flee-flicker and quick-kick.
