    Allen Bell

This one really has me puzzled. I still can't believe he isn't #1 on the depth chart. I thought he was our best player in the secondary last season. I always felt better when he was lined up against the other teams best receiver. I thought he would be our lockdown/shutdown corner this year and have thought he might be able to play on Sundays.
Does anyone know if he is hurt? Are the coaches trying to prove something?
Best of luck to Allen this year!

I'm with you on that. He seemed to get it at the end of last year.

I think he got in the doghouse some. And he has some stiff competition in Devon McDowell and Kennard Banks. He will play. I actually think the weak link back there is Singleton. We will see.

    Chizik said

he is third string this game but that doesn't mean he won't be starting later in the year. That was in a Des Moines Register article.

It sounds like Chizik is sending him a message and yet acknowledging that Bell is better than third string.

    Re: Allen Bell

Allen is in a rut with coaches right now and has to work to get his spot back. He should be starting, but this is what happens.
