    Van Coleman

Did any one catch him on the John Miller show and what did he have to say?

    Re: Van Coleman

talked about Harrison Barnes and how North Carolina is the real threat to take him outta Ames, since he grew up a Tar Heel fan(bandwagon).

Mentioned some of Iowa's recent commits.

Talked highly about the new kid that ISU just signed and said if he gets his second year, we would be fortunate. He said he can really light it up, and said it with enthusiasm.

Spoke highly of Jordan Dykstra and said he could be a Nick Collison type player.

And a bunch of other ramblings.

Van Coleman's expertise is overrated....I don't buy anything he says anymore.

    Re: Van Coleman

Marquis Gilstrap was the one he was talking about, said the guy can stroke it and we got lucky getting him. Compared him to Wesley Johnson. He thought Marquis will be a 15-18pts/game scorer right off the bat.

He mentioned the only negative about Dykstra is he plays against no one up there in NW Iowa, but at camps he's always asking how he can improve his game, so at least he's aware of this.

I also liked Van Colemans comments about how ISU will need to replace the 20 pts/game Wesley would have given us. He said Lucca and one other player will need to provide that (I say Garrett has a hellacious year).

    Good interview!!

    Re: Van Coleman

A healthy Wesley could have easily averaged 20 a game for us. But it doesn't matter anymore as the POS is gone

I agree with Van that North Carolina is the biggest threat to take him out of Ames. If they offer I believe he will go there.

    I second this statement.

NHL teams need to be added to the favorite teams section.

"If" they offer? He's a Top Ten talent!

However, I'm going to downplay the "North Carolina fan" worries.

    His dad was a Cyclone.

He may like UNC, but ISU is in his blood.

UNC may not offer...they have a really tight scholarship situation.

And as soon as a bunch of underclassmen go pro after the season, it'll be resolved.

Where is the outcry on this thread about this statement???? I was pilloried last year for making similar statements about Wes Eikmeier.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
