    online sportsbook

Does anyone have an online sportsbook that they could recommend. Most concerned about payout and whether i have to tie my bank account to the online account. Is their a bookie that will let you bet the under over on Iowa State wins for the regular season?

Payouts are the hard part. The UIGEA has made it hard to place a reliable $20 bet from your own home. You can thank Bill Frist, Jim Leach and most of the rest of the Congress from two years ago. Thank god most of those freeedom-hating bums are gone now anyway!

I've used World Sports Exchange. Had a lot of fun with the live betting there too.

    sportsbook.com
    vipsports.com
    betonsports.com

I have used all of them. Remember, even though you can access them they are still illegal if you are in the United States and rarely people do get charged with using illegal sites (by illegal sites I mean illegal to use, they are of course "legal sites" as the countries they are based in allow them).

    Re: online sportsbook

I thought it was just illegal for a US resident to transfer money to a off shore betting site. Not to actually use it.

When the law first went into act I had to use western Union to play poker and bet online. I don't really do much of it anymore.

my understanding of the law is that if you are IN the united states you cannot gamble on sports online anywhere. In fact, other than other countries where can you bet on sports in the US outside Vegas? Reno, Atlantic City??? This I don't know.

    and i don't mean horseracing.

I am not sure about sports but I think it is the same as poker.

It is not illegal to play, put money on, etc. unless you are in the select few states that have that law in place (Iowa is not one of them).

It is technically illegal for banks to transfer money to and from gaming institutions (are we communists now or what?). However, many still do it.

You personally have nothing to worry about, unless you are rolling in massive amounts of money and don't pay your taxes on it. I have taken many payments from pokers sites over the years and haven't had any issue..... and nobody, not even the big fish who wager alot of money, has ever been charged with anything (except pry tax evasion, and you wouldn't need to worry about that unless you are really pulling in some dough gambling).

Lately though, it has been getting harder and harder to get your payouts from sites, as the DOJ apparently has nothing better to do than try to keep you from betting $20 on the Cyclones. It appears they forgot this is a free country.

Ive used them for a while now, but my account is about to finally dry up. The final bet is on the ISU/SDSU game.

Their lines are always off from the standard one way or the other. Not tried to get a payout, although a couple times i should've.

If i do try online again, it wont be with them.

Sportsinteraction.com is good, I have used that for 5 or 6 years and never had a problem, they even give me free money every once in a while when I have been inactive for a couple weeks.

    Re: online sportsbook

Just out of curiosity, do any of these sites show that 3-wins-for-the-season over/under for ISU available as a bet? If I had an account that's one I'd be all over (on the over, of course).

Definitely not the sites fault though. Place the blame where it belongs, on the last Congress before this one.

Also if any of you like betting online, now would be a good time to write your congressman as their are multiple bills under consideration to regulate and legalize online gaming. Or if you just believe that in a free country, you should be allowed to do what you wish with your own money in your own home.
