    Pineapple Express or Tropic Thunder?

Which one would you see tonight given the choice. I get to choose and both look pretty funny. Anyone seen one or both? any feedback?

    TIA

I have seen Tropic Thunder. I thought it was pretty well done. I have heard that Pineapple is more violent than funny but would like to see that as well. If you have a pretty decent sense of humor you will like TT. Robert Downey was fantastic in it.

I am leaning toward Tropic Thunder. I guess I am just looking for a good reason not to, such as Pineapple Express being amazingly funny.

I think TT appeals to a wider audience than PinE. I have seen PinE but not TT, so take it for what its worth.

Having seen Pineapple Express, it's basically a modern day Cheech and Chong type movie. If that's your style then I'd see that. If you're going with a girl and that style is a bit of a turn-off, then I'd skip it and see Tropic Thunder.

That being said, see Tropic Thunder today and then catch Pineapple Express tomorrow! Well, you can always rent Pineapple Express if you don't make it to the movies much...

Saw TT last weekend. RDJ and Cruise are hilarious. I'd give it a go.

    Depends on your 'state'...

Pineapple Express is hilarious in the right 'state'.

Tropic Thunder is very funny too.

I am a gal, and I find that stuff fairly funny, although I didn't think that Cheech and Chong were all that great. I see the humor, just not what I find all that funny I guess. I am a big fan of the Judd Apatow/Seth Rogan stuff so far, so we will probably see it at some point. I am 99% sure it will be Tropic Thunder. Once I saw the preview and read a review in Rolling Stone, I knew I had to see it.

Duh! I didn't read the username, so that makes sense. Sorry about that!

Anyhow, this is a bit different from other Judd Apatox/Seth Rogan stuff. I mean you can tell it's the same style, but at the end of the day, it's a lot of weed jokes, getting high jokes, and all of that.

It's better than Cheech and Chong because there is an actual plot, although it's incredibley over the top. It's a funny movie, but I liked Knocked Up and Superbad much much much more.......

Re: Pineapple Express or Tropic Thunder?

I've seen both and I'd suggest TT. I didn't really care for Pineapple Express. It wasn't that funny to me, and Seth Rogan spent most of the time doing some of the lousiest acting I've seen in a long time. He seemed to constantly be yelling, and Franco seemed like a meek teenager who didn't want to upset anyone. Just not my thing.

    TT was shocking, but hillarious.
