16 year old drops out so he can devote his time to Guitar Hero

16-year-old quits school to play video game - Video Game Feature - Yahoo! Video Games

Pretty bad when a kid now wants to drop out to become what amounts to be a professional air guitar player.

Why doesn't he just learn to play the real thing?

Yep, there's another idiot where soon my tax dollars will be paying his salary in the form of welfare checks. Here's what I'd like to do to this loser:

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

He should take on the Vikings' punter Klewe (LINK). That guy is fairly amazing:

Klewe, it should be noted, has a big boy job, however.

You don't need to go to school when you've made $1000 playing guitar hero.

Love the quote from the female parental unit (I refuse to call this person a "mother")

"We couldn't take the complaining anymore... He always told me he thought school was a waste of time."

    Oh dear GOD!

If it's my kid? I'm asking a couple question when this decision comes up.

    a) Where will you be living and playng guitar hero at, cause it sure as hell isn't in this house

    b) What sponsor did you sign up to get to Germany for this competition?

    Wise career move.
What with the absurd amounts being made by video game players. And all the rest of those people posting youtube videos and whatnot.

The "Guitar Hero Generation" will be the death of Rock. No rockers from that generation will ever learn how to play the actual guitar.

The Pong generation will be the death of Tennis. No Pongers will ever learn how to actually play Tennis.

According to our president, our brothers and sisters from Mexico are coming here to alleviate us from the drudgery of working at the drive thru...

Re: 16 year old drops out so he can devote his time to Guitar Hero

Here is what he wrote about the situation on facebook. He has a plan

I am still getting an education. I have a back up plan if this doesn't work out. I have been looking into taking classes on how to make my own video games.

I am not playing Guitar Hero for the money since there isn't much you can make from that. I am playing all kinds of games so I can play smarter in FPS games. It helps because you think more strategically and tactically the more you play. It also helps your aim in future games that are similar.

If you get good at some rhythm games you usually can pick up other rhythm type games and get good at them faster than most people. In fighting games you learn how to string moves together to combo the other player etc. The same goes with a lot of types of games.
