    Nice read on the RB's

From the pic in the article it looks like A-Rob has packed on a little more muscle.

Re: Nice read on the RB's

I have talked to several players who say that Bass is the most well put together guy on the team. Looking at the pictures from last year I can definitely see it

I am really excited to see JJ this year. He had a promising start to the season last year, but never was the same player after the shoulder injury. I think JJ & A-Rob are going to be an awesome 1-2 punch. It will be nice to have Scales there to spell the two or in case of injury (not taking anything away from Scales, I just like JJ & A-Rob a little better).

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jason Harris get some carries as well.

I also think they will make a nice 1-2 punch, but A-Rob will be the starter. MacFarland confirmed that in this article today on Scout.

Maybe put both in backfield at same time. Split one out side?

Re: Nice read on the RB's

I've said all along I hope, at least early in the season, that both A-Rob and JJ get 20 carries apiece. I would love to just wear down the opposing D line and really establish a strong running game to help the young QBs.

Re: Nice read on the RB's

a lot of people think that Bass will be the starter come later in the season after what I would guess would be a doghouse stint early on. I love what ARob brings, so that can only be a good thing if Bass takes most of his carries later on.

Actually, I'm hoping we pass more for the first couple games. That way, our newbie q-bies get some experience under their belts.

That's a tough one for coach. College FB teams traditionally make their greatest improvement between games 2 and 3. On paper, our first two games should be locks. Game three is Iowa, who is historically very strong against the run - at least between the tackles runs. And he's got two QB's he's still trying to sort through and a lot of new receivers. They've got to get the game time work if they're going to make that game 3 leap. I'm very curious to see the play calling in the first couple of games.

ISU fans are the greatest in the world. All they ask for is hope and the belief that we have a chance to win every time we step on the field - Johnny Majors (paraphrased)

Ya gotta have the horses, man - Johnny Orr.

Hah! I'm hoping J.J. and A-Rob both get twenty carries, and the two quarterbacks combine for forty passes!

    That'll show 'em.

(It's not like we're playing Georgia or Ohio State here.)
