    Phone

So another thread got me thinking. I'm 26 and have never had a land line, how many out there only use cell phone as primary?

Cell phone only here, but I'm still living in apartment while in college. I still don't see myself getting a land line.

Cell Phone only here, don't see a reason to have/pay for a land line in this day and age.

I only had a cell phone for the past six or seven years, but had to get a land line for DSL. Don't use it at all otherwise, other than to receive calls from telemarketers.

I have cell phone only, and I see many people who are like my parents in their fifties who only have a land line bcuz they are just used to it. They both have cell phones and almost never use the land line. It's kind of a dying part of technology

My parents are exactly the same.

    Re: Phone

I think I was the first one in my family that got rid of the land line about 4 years ago. It simply does not make any since to own a land line and cell phone.

    I'm cell phone only.

    Re: Phone

My wife and I both have cell phones, but also have Vonage mainly for the 911 service. If it wasn't for 911, we wouldn't have a landline either.

Do your cell phones not work at your home address?
Just wondering because even a cell phone that is not activated is still required to have the ability to dial 911.

    Re: Phone

    Cell only here as well.

Some people may think I'm crazy but I actually took out all of the land-line cabling in our house since we have absolutely no need for it and would never consider getting a land-line for any reason - it was needing to be redone so I "done it alright". When we sell the house in a few years, I would consider putting new lines in if requested by a buyer, but otherwise I see no need for it.

    Re: Phone

Yeah they work at our home address, but they can't find your address based on your cell phone as easily can they? For example if you were incapacitated and couldn't speak.
