    Olympic Ratings?

The ratings for this year's games have to be huge. Everyone at my office is watching them about every night. My friends are all watching them. I couldn't believe how excited people were to watch the women's gymnastics last night. My guess is that you were in the minority in Iowa last night if you weren't tuned into NBC.

Personally, I've watched more of these games then any of the past Olympics combined.

    Is anyone not watching these?

I thought I heard that this was going to be one of the most watched ever.

    Re: Olympic Ratings?

Yeah, and mediacom cable went out in my area right before the gymnastics. Had to watch Phelps on the rabbit ears! Thank goodness I kept them after the Fox debacle.

Ooops, shouldn't have mentioned that. Flame on!

    Re: Olympic Ratings?

I am thoroughly enjoying watching the games this year. I honestly marvel at "The Cube" and "The Bird's Nest". The events are entertaining and somewhat enthralling.

Wonder how far the ratings will drop after Phelps is done swimming??

    Re: Olympic Ratings?

I wonder if the games being broadcast in HD television helps the ratings. For me, being able to watch in HD makes it a much more enjoyable experience, and I know I have watched more because of it.

    Re: Olympic Ratings?

I probably won't watch near as much once Phelps is done, I'm getting burnt out on them already.

    Re: Olympic Ratings?

I'm not watching, actually. The weather in the evenings has been too nice recently (in OK) to be inside and to be honest, the little bit that I have watched has been so focused on Phelps or special interest stories, that I have lost the desire to watch any of it.

I do check for the results online, though. I like to see the smaller countries win.

Completely agree. I'm watching them more because of HD.

Probably not too much. There will always be some exciting story to watch.

I know I've been watching a lot more than I usually do, don't know why, but they've been very compelling so far.

The olympics 4 years ago had a ton of stuff in HD. Pretty much every major event was in HD.

I haven't seen a single minute of them, and I could really care less.
