Looks like halftime during the Mac era. I'm glad they've changed the halftime re-entry policy.

That was a great blog. That guy is hilarious. Would have liked him to use a different picture of JTS that was pathetic.

They aren't changing it until next year are they? At least that is what I thought was last said on here. Pretty funny blog though.

That photo is from pre-game. The band only spells CYCLONES during the pregame show, never for half-time.

I have a feeling that was McCarney's last game vs. Missouri. It was dreary out at the beginning of the game and that really was how full the stadium was at least when the band was playing.

Yep pregame. It was probably later in the season too, because if you look at the cheer squad in the front sideline they're wearing long pants.

I would also guess late Mac era, our pregame crowd numbers in seats was horrible before last year.

I know there's a lot of people that could care less about the band and would rather stay out and slam a couple beers before coming in just in time (or a little after kick off) But I gotta tell say, when the band comes out for pregame and I flank to look at the stands it's pretty pathetic even from the standpoint of a die hard Iowa State fan. When I'm there as a band member thinking how pathetic it looks I can't imagine how opposing players feel about "the hostile environment" they're going to play in. I can't help but think seeing the stadium 90% empty up until kickoff doesn't give the opposing team at least some confidence. Think about going into college station or Texas and seeing so many people and then coming to, by comparison, our tiny stadium and seeing it mostly empty.

Last year it was a lot better but it still isn't really that great for some games.

Our late arriving crowds for football are worse than they are for basketball it's just not as noticable. What makes it worse is everyone is there they're just in the parking lot.

    rep for you.

I have never understood it either. I went to a Georgia game once...the crowd was pretty much in the seats 1/2 hour prior to kick-off.

........and those fans love to tailgate.

Couldn't be the Texas game, because the spirit squad isn't carrying those flags past my section again..........

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
