    First game on TV

I thought I saw somewhere that the SDSU game is going to be on Fox Sports Midwest. Will it also be on Fox Sport North, which is what most people that live in Central Iowa and have Directv get?

I'm going to the game...just wondering.

It'll be on Fox College Sports. I know you can get it on Mediacom or DirecTV on their sports packs. Probably Dish Network, too, but that's just a guess.

    Re: First game on TV

Mediacom central Iowa: Digital cable channel 173 (part of their Sports Pack)
DirecTV: channel 617 (allegedly); shows up as an alternate channel
    Dish Network: no idea

FCS is NOT the same as FSN Midwest or FSN North.

Any rumors on TV options for the game against Kent State? Can't make it to Ames for that one and would like to DVR it. :(

    Re: First game on TV

I STARTED WONDERING ABOUT DIRECT TV CHANNEL 617, SO I CALLED DIRECT TV AGAIN. THE GUY I TALKED TO NEVER HEARD OF A FOX COLLEGE SPORTS CHANNEL OR ANY 617. SO I EMAILED A QUESTION TO CYCLONES.COM AND THIS WAS THEIR
RESPONSE. I REALLY HOPE THIS GAME IS ON DIRECT TV. I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE THE UNI GAME LAST YEAR FOR THIS SEASON TO START.

The Big 12 Conference submitted us information regarding the telecast of the SDSU game. DirecTV will be carrying the game on FCS Central, DirecTV channel 617. The information is what we received from the conference and our release went through the appropriate communications channels before being disseminated.

FCS Central in relation to DirecTV is one of those "alternate channels." Meaning, it only shows up when airing particular programming, then it goes away. So, come Aug. 28 at 7 p.m., channel 617 will show up in your programming guide and you'll be able to watch it if you have the sports pack (the package where all the sports channels show up in the 600's). Other than for this event, that channel doesn't show up in your programming guide b/c it only airs on special occasions.

I'm having serious doubts about DISH for the SDSU game. I'll be checking my program guide Wed. night to see if I can't track it down...

The officials would need a second string to keep up.

It must be sleeping bag and pillow night down there. Cause that is the kind of game I pray for to be on late so I can fall asleep after watching good football games all day long.

    SDSU game televised?

Hey, what channel is the SDSU game on? I heard it was televised... but I have Dish Network. Does anyone know what channel (and channel #) that it will be on?

    Re: First game on TV

Dish network is not airing the game. I think the 3 choices are Mediacom, Direct TV, and Clone Zone.

I also have Dish network, but I can at least watch the game at a friend's house.
