Back to the Future ISU Football: 2004

I found this to be a good read, and you could make a lot of comparisons to this fall. Long story short, no one expected us to do anything that year coming off a 2-10 season. We surprised everyone and went 7-5. I hope it happens again!

Just fun to look back, and check out those white pants on Stevie Hicks!

I giggled when I saw Waye Terry under "key losses".

They had us going 3-8? That sounds like this years prediction.

Wow, that was pretty fun to read. I hope that we see some similarities in outcome for the season.

Unfortunately, the North will be a lot tougher this year than in 2004. I wonder where our program would be if we had one either the Missouri game in ’04 or the Kansas (or Baylor) game in ’05?

Honestly? I think McCarney's still here (or just on his way out) and the hope that JP refers to is starting to run dry.

Personally, I'm kind of glad we lost those two games (in a hindsight is 20/20 kind of way).

I disagree - I'm very sad we lost those games and I think Dan would have caused expectations to rise and he still would have been gone after '07.

He was gone after '06. Best case scenario is we'd be one year behind in a retooling of the program, but most likely thing is we likely wouldn't have Chizik & Co. running the program.
