    8-10-08 Olympic discussion thread

Thought I'd start one for today:

Just saw Phelps crush the IM. I can't get enough of the olympics! I even watched fencing.

Fencing was quite entertaining...kind of a weird olympic sport but its also good we swept the medals in that event. Gave us a good start in the games.

    Re: 8-9-08 Olympic discussion thread

Did anyone see the medal presentation for the Sabre (fencing)?

All 3 spots filled by Americans... It always gets to me to see the American flag raised while the national anthem is played at the Olympics.

I can't believe the #1 men's sand volleyball team lost to the 23rd ranked latvians...in straight sets.

    Re: 8-9-08 Olympic discussion thread

Does anyone else find it funny that some men swimmers basically are wearing women's 1 piece swimsuits? I know it's supposed to help cut through the water, but I came in late on a race and thought this dude was a chick cause he had his swimming cap on to go along with his 1 piece. It was Larsen Jensen I think...

Most of those speedsuits and co-designed/engineered by a professor here at ISU

Not to sound like a jerk, but I would recommend not reading a thread about something that you are watching or planning on watching when the result has already occurred, especially with the Olympics.

43-54 Record in CF Mafia. The most games played and wins by any player in Cyclone Fanatic History. Yes, I'm a nerd.

So there is a 13 hour time difference between here and beijing...so all the live events are going to be at night and through the wee hours of the morning just an FYI...anything your watching in the morning of early afternoon our time is going to be reruns of action.
