    Re: Article on Sage

Nice story on Sage, but I think we all know who should be the starter in Houston. If he were the starter, I would certainly have him on my Fantasy Football roster.

Houston reminds me a little of the Packers, in that they are totally unyielding and steadfastly refuse to even give Sage a chance even though he may (probably) be better. I'm sure some of the Houston players wouldn't mind him starting, considering he went 3-1. That comeback last year was phenomenal. He's always been a great athlete and has continually improved in his time in the NFL.

Thanks for the link, it is a very good article. Very refreshing to see a story like that with all the greed and selfishness that goes on in sports these days.

How in any way does that relate to the Packers? Are you insinuating that Rodgers may/will be better than Favre?

    Anyways...

I hope Sage eventually gets a real shot to be the guy for a full season.

I main point was referring to the complete unyielding stubbornness of the organization regarding the quarterbacks, not so much the fact that one is/may be better than the other.

Fair enough - but it certainly didn't read that way at all.

    Re: Article on Sage

I honestly think both Sage and Seneca are ideal as backup QBs. In fact, they may be the best two in the league.

Having watched both play several times, I'm not as sure either has what is needed to be a long term starter in the NFL. No shame in that though.

Dunno - both Sage and Seneca looked really good when given their opportunities to lead their teams - Seneca 2 years ago when Hasslebeck got hurt and Sage last year when Schaub got hurt. And I'm pretty convinced the only reason why Schaub is labeled as the starter in Houston is because he's being paid starter salary. I've always thought this was a mistake because while in Atlanta he never really impressed upon me he had what it takes to be a star QB in this league - and his play last year really reaffirmed that stance IMO. To me Schaub is that career back-up that you've defined for Sage.

Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

    Re: Article on Sage

If Sage was a free agent, why did he sign with Houston again? I'd have tried for Chicago or Minnesota. He'd start for either one of those teams.
