If you can eat it, its free

Over the years I've eaten in a number of restaurants that offer some type of collossally sized item on their menu and if you can eat it within a specified time frame it is free.

Here is what I would consider the topper:

    Hillbilly Hotdogs Homewrecker Dog.

The Homewrecker is a 3.5-lb. weapon of cardiovascular mass destruction. They start with a deep-fried 15", 1-pound dog and top it with peppers, onions, nacho cheese, chili sauce, jalapenos, mustard, ketchup, coleslaw, tomatoes, lettuce, and shredded cheese.

If you can eat it in four minutes or less, it is free.

Wow that sounds disgusting. There is no way I would eat that in 4 days let alone 4 minutes, I love my arteries more then that.

Re: If you can eat it, its free

I have no doubts that I could eat it, but the value of eating something that large in four minutes is less than zero.

Frankly (get the pun?) I would love to savor that dog...

They would sell out of them before half time, like they do everything else...

Re: If you can eat it, its free

I once ate, completely, the 40 ounce steak, stuffed with shrimp, that an Omaha steak place advertised as "free, if you eat it in 30 minutes". It took about an hour to do it, but I enjoyed it, and had no plans of getting it free.

Contrast that with today, when a third link sausage fills me up, at breakfast.

We just eat too darned much....

I did this every Tuesday night after football practice. That place hated us.

The tacos themselves were easy. Putting in that last potato ole was rough.

Six pack and a pound used to be a pretty typical Sunday hangover lunch for me... The worst part was it took so long to eat and the Ole's got cold and soggy

I don't know if they still do it but Trophies had a 2lb hamburger that if you ate it in 15 minutes you got a free replica jersey of your choice. The only thing is I think you had to have at least 2 or 3 condiments on your burger like lettuce, onion, etc and you had to finish your entire burger and drink. Saw some interesting strategies but rarely seen someone finish it because the burger itself takes up a whole plate. I think the best strategy I saw was eating the bun first and dipping it in your beer so it wasn't so filling.

Ahh, there is nothing more enjoyable than putting down the old six pack and a pound.
