Sedrick Johnson article from Ames Trib

Interesting read. Fills in a lot of the gaps from what happened with him and his mom after he signed with ISU.
Mid-Iowa Newspapers - Johnson's route to Iowa State takes odd turns

Edit: Post #100 for me. Sweet.

Interesting situation and I really hope things work out for the best.

When Sed signs an NFL contract and makes life easier for his family I'm sure fences will mend. He'll make it. He has his teammates, coaches, and support staff to keep him on the right track. Tens of thousands of fans want nothing more than to see him succeed. Good luck to him.

Good story. its interesting to find out how things really went down. Hopefully we roll all over aTm this year and next. Maybe he can grab a TD and hand her the ball afterwards.

What a great picture! Chizik says he is a basketball player and that means he can go up and grab the ball. I will be watching this kids progress.

Don't know what to make of the comment that his mom wants to go to the Iowa game in IC.

It's amazing a kid would knowingly put himself through that kind of personal strain just to be a Cyclone. That makes me feel even better about our current staff (as if I was feeling poorly about them).

That did take a lot of guts. I hope he has a great career with us.

Hopefully they utilize his size and leaping ability better than they did with Blythe. I didnt see too many toss up passes where you just go let him jump up and get it. If he can get his blocking down, maybe he can be 3rd WR on the field. Have him on one side with RJ and Marquis on the other.

Re: Sedrick Johnson article from Ames Trib

Great read...thanks for posting! I'm sure his teammates are rallying around him during these difficult times and I hope his Cyclone family is helping to heal these wounds.

I really think Sedrick Johnson (great name for the crowd to chant, by the way) could be a game-changer for ISU. I'm imagining a guy who could combine the best attributes of JJ Moses and Todd Blythe. You get the speed and elusiveness of Moses, with the height and leaping ability of Blythe. I'd imagine he brings an athletic ability that is hard to keep off the field his freshman year.

Something tells me that Sed has something that Blythe didn't have - SPEED. Coach saying that an incoming freshman needs to work on his route running isn't a bad thing. Coach saying that about a senior captain, on the other hand...

Does his Dad reside in Iowa?

Same page also had a Mike Taylor article that might have been posted:
