    Rob Ash

What makes Jim Harbaugh anymore qualified to coach Iowa State than Rob Ash. Rob Ash has coached a lot longer 1AA non schalarship football. If being a former pro athlete is the main criteria than maybe we should have hired Fred Hoiberg to coach basketball instead of GMAC.

    Re: Rob Ash

Harbaugh's winning percentage is much better than Ash's, plus he has NFL coaching experience.

I hear where you're coming from. Count me in as one who is not enamored with Harbaugh as our coach.

I just don't think the qualifications are there.

    Re: Rob Ash

If Jamie Pollard thought Ash was the best man for the job...he would get interviewed.

Isn't Ash the QB Coordinator? That isn't going so well this year...

Just curious...who would you like to see as the next coach?

    Re: Rob Ash

I will be happy with whomever Pollard gets, whether its Harbaugh or not. He gets paid to do the research and find the best coaching candidate. I'm sure he knows a lot more about coaching candidates than any of us.

    Re: Rob Ash

Just my 2 cents. If I were a potential 3, 4 or 5 * recruit, and I got a call, would I want to hear this is Rob Ash or this is Jim Harbaugh?

Even if these kids are too young to remember Harbaugh as a player, I would think that Google would churn up some more interesting results for Harbaugh than Ash. Basically, he can get in some recruits' doors that Ash can't.

Plus, who had the ties to get the best group of assistants?

    Re: Rob Ash

I think Hoiberg will be a good coach some day, but he doesn't have any coaching experience or does he? Didn't he play until he couldn't play any more? He is now in the Timberwolves administation, right?

Harbaugh would probably have more coaching experience than he does, but he played in the NFL for 15 years. I hope he learned a thing or two about coaching along the way.

I got a negative rep for using degradory words when posting this. What part of the Film Actors Guild acronym is degradory?

In all sincerity, sorry for offending anyone with the movie quote. I understand Team America may not be for everyone reading here.

What the heck man? Do people live under a rock and have never seen nor heard of the movie Team America?

Even if they did live under a rock...you typed it F.A.G.

    Sheesh.
