    Rant About My Parents

Ever since we moved back to Sioux City, my parents and my inlaws have basically had us under the microscope. Everything we do, say, etc is questioned or controlled. My parents are the worst about it. They do this with money, child raising, yard and house, etc. The newest thing is today I find out from my wife that my mother has hired a tree service to remove the huge tree from our backyard because she feels it will fall on the house. This tree is huge and old, but its not dead. It has dropped large branches recently, but I think that can be remedied by having it trimmed up since it pretty much hasnt been done in years I suspect. I just know this is going to cause me more work with landscaping and the yard getting full sun when its not used to it. The fact though is that they have no right to do this on my property without my say so. My mom went around me.

Whew, I just needed to get this out there and off my chest.

Does anyone else have some controlling parents that have found a way of stopping them without poison tablets in their lemonade?

Tell them they don't get grandkids until they knock it off.

Either tell them to stop and let them know how you feel or hire a company to come put in a nice new pool in their backyard. Billed to your parents of course.

If they get bored send them my way and I will let them pay for cutting down my overgrown trees.

Move away from Sioux City. That always solves a lot of problems.

I can say that because I'm from Sioux City.

I was about to say the same thing! I've got some home improvement projects for them if they want to front the bill on them.

Yeah sounds like a blessing doesnt it. Problem is, that we have stuff like a driveway sinking slowly letting water into the basement that seems like more of an emergency. And with any gift we get from them it comes with strings.

Would love to. Isnt going to happen. We have gotten sucked into the position now where we will be here until they die like they did with their parents before them. Its a vicious cycle.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

If you move too far away, like Texas, then you'll just get inundated with little barbs of guilt that you live so far away now and how badly all your family misses you.

I was ok with that when we lived in Wisconsin. Caller ID worked wonders. Now I live every episode of Everybody Loves Raymond.
