    Who else is after Harbaugh?

I understand that Michigan State is also after Harbaugh, but who else is after him?

Re: Who else is after Harbaugh?

I'd be very interested to see if Harbaugh would entertain an offer from his former in-state rival. If he is JP's target, I hope they're getting things wrapped up as we write so he can be formally announced next week.

Yeah I don't know who would entertain an offer from a former in-state rival. Speaking of which, does anyone know where Mac played his college ball?

Is Stanford interesed in JH? He wouldn't have to move quite as far to make the leap to Div 1.

This is just driving me nuts!
I can just see it all now... clock just about to expire, winding down... Brett Meyer takes the snap... (the "mercy" kneel-down) ...and Oklahoma loses... 42-7.
Even if we don't get Captain Comback, I can't imagine Pollard getting anybody less.

Touche... (I thought about that after I posted.) My point should have been that if Harbaugh does have aspirations of coaching at Michigan, MSU would not be a good stepping stone...

I don't think there is a chance he goes to MSU. Stanford is another story though, its on the west coast and would be pretty attractive place to coach... Who knows who else is going to get showed the door once the season ends. Thats why Jamie needs to move fast, which i think he is!

Re: Who else is after Harbaugh?

Good point, if Harbaugh does want to eventually coach at Michigan, he will have to excel in between USD and Michigan. I would guess that he wouldn't choose MSU. Why not ISU?

Jim Harbaugh will not be the next coach at ISU.

I just don't see it happening either. Although I'm not 100% certain as you are. I don't have any sources though either.

What makes you so certain? I'm not saying that he will or won't be, just curious if you do know something, or if it's a gut feeling disguised as fact.

Re: Who else is after Harbaugh?

I read an opinion article on Sporting News that said that Lloyd Carr may retire if he finishes the season in a "blaze of glory", which I take to mean winning a national championship or maybe even just playing in the game. Harbaugh has got to be interested in returning to Michigan. With that possibility on the table, I don't see him coming to ISU.

Actually, I've heard English went to Michigan with the expectation that he would be taking over for Carr. I don't feel Michigan has any intentions of hiring Harbaugh straight out of USD. He would need some D1 experience first. His best chance of getting the HC job there would be to go elsewhere right now and either hope Carr sticks around and the defense starts to suck (so English is out of the equation) or preparing his Resume for when they replace English. Neither option leaves him at USD, so ISU isn't that far fetched.
