Someone needs to convince Harrison that with his talent he is going to be noticed regardless of where he plays. He seems to have the impression that Iowa is so far out in the sticks that no one will know he exists if he stays here. If he takes a team to the final 4 that no one believes can get there he will really be noticed.

So true. Manahattan Kansas is at least as out in the sticks as Ames, and K-State has much less basketball tradition. It sure didn't seem to be a problem as far as Beasley getting noticed. He seemed to find his way on to SportsCenter as well as doing okay on draft day. NBA teams want to win, and if you have that level of talent you will be found, no matter where you are playing. Just my 2 cents.

I'm as much of an ISU homer as the next guy, but K-State has a much richer Bball tradition that ISU.

I will say that recent history favors ISU.

I would agree with this, but how about this - in the lifetimes of the kids being recruited, K-State has pretty much sucked.

I'm curious about the comment about Iowa not being known for its basketball... I would say for the low-population states, Iowa has excellent high school basketball players (although talent level in classes fluctuate each year)... I recall a few years ago, perhaps it was the '05 or '06 Dance, where Iowa had per capita the highest number of players in the NCAA tourney, considering UNI, Creighton, Iowa, and if it was indeed '05, ISU all in, as well as the few random other Iowa kids in other programs.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Maybe when people wore Chuck Taylors. KSU has sucked since Mitch Richmond was there, last season is the first good year in quite a while. As for fan support, not even close. When ISU is bad, they still outdraw many top teams.

I was curious too, especially when he mentioned Texas as a basketball state... I remember reading about the Fab Five and they referred to Texas as a basketball wasteland. I'm sure it has gotten better, but basketball is about fourth in line down there most of the time.

Texas has more talent than any other state in basketball for the 2009 season

Well and the deal I read about Beasley was they needed to find a place for him more or less out in the stick so that they could keep out of trouble.

and thats kinda funny because 17 years ago people were skeptical of Ray Jackson BECAUSE he was from Texas.

I am sick of hearing about Barnes. Love the kid. Want him to be a Clone. The problem is that if Harrison choses Kansas we have been talking about a Kansas recruit like we are. I hate giving any props to Kansas Recruits.

Ha, I would believe it...... but either way it didn't keep him from being "discovered"
