    SATELLITE & BTN

Hey I am sure this will get answered by some one on here. We just got direct tv and live in southeastern mn. Got ESPN game plan and hoping some clones games find their way on there. My question is we have the Big Ten Network, and the ISU vs EIU is set for 11:00 right, but so is the Gophers vs Who cares game on the BTN. Am I going to get to see "THE GAME" or some bs that I could care less about? Any info would be great. I want to know if I should plan on driving south!

    Re: SATELLITE & BTN

I believe that the BTN is actually a couple different channels, they show a bunch of games at the same time.

Yep you will get the game in HD. All the big10 games are on different channels, it is actually really cool. I would kill for a big12 channel similar to this, it is great.

totally off the BTN subject, but I'm assuming that everyone here will tell me to dump Mediacom and go to Directv. I have tv and internet and it's all I've ever had so I'm dragging my feet... Can I get your #1 reason to switch?

Not having to deal with Mediacom anymore. How much more would it cost you per month to go DTV/Qwest if you fire Mediacom? If it's pretty nominal, it might be worth it just to get the FB games. Plus you could get Sunday Ticket and other sports packages that you can't get with MC.

    Re: SATELLITE & BTN

we had charter up here in mn, by far the worst cable company of all time. zero customer service and basically a monopoly in rochester jacking the rates to what ever they want. we had digital cable, phone, and internet through them for $125/month. we switched to qwest for internet and phone and got direct tv through them (1 hi def/dvr receiver and 2 regular receivers) for $115/month. charter, like media com, had prob 1/2 the football games i will be watching this year. MAKE THE SWITCH!

For me, HD was the deciding factor. I have an HDTV and wanted more HD channels and an HD-DVR. I had digital basic cable and internet through Mediacom. I switched to DirecTV and got 250+ channels (many of them in HD) and an HD-DVR. After switching to Qwest for internet, I'm paying almost the exact same amount for TV and internet service that I was before and getting a whole lot more for my money.

That said, if I didn't have an HDTV, I might have considered sticking with Mediacom. Every person's situation is different.

    Re: SATELLITE & BTN

The way I understand how ESPN game plan works.

Any game broadcast on ESPN or ABC in any market could make it on game plan.

Problem is if your game is on ESPN or ABC and you live in that market allready, then game plan is pointless.

    Re: SATELLITE & BTN

Another thing to keep in mind with DirectTv..is that they will be launching the Mountain West Network nationwide in August. so, i believe you will be able to catch the UNLV game as well.
