    New local sports radio show

I heard a rumor that Keith Murphy and Andy Fales were going to get a new radio show. Anyone know anything about this? I think it would be great and beat the pants off the current local sports radio shows around hear.

That would be great. Hopefully they get on 1700 and send KXNO packing.

Re: New local sports radio show

If Murph and Fales do a show and do it right. Marty and Miller better start looking for jobs. Murph and Fales know that Iowan's like to talk about Cyclones and Hawkeyes. Then second would be any major happenings in sports

Marty and Miller think tallking about golf and horses is fun for the audience.

Marty and Miller get good ratings but that is because they have no competition.

Fales and Murph would be great.

Re: New local sports radio show

Their TV jobs take up so much time, I'm not sure those two would have enough time for a radio show too. Maybe if it's on the weekend, maybe as a supplement to someone's college football coverage. I'd love to hear another local sports radio show, though.

I can't imagine they'll be doing the show in the same time slot as M&M if this is true because that would be right in the 5 & 6pm news casts. Guessing it would be a mid-day or early afternoon but right now this is all rumors so not getting my hopes up.

So let me get this straight...

You think that when Marty and Miller spend approximately 4 segments on how annoyed they are when television stations interrupt televised sporting events with weather alerts is bad radio.

Well, if that is not good radio, I don't know what is.

They would be great for the SoundOff show on 1040 on football gamedays.

That would absolutely never happen, but would be the greatest show in the history of Iowa radio.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Yeah, that ****** me off yesterday hearing them rant about that. Too bad under free broadcasting as a news station regulated by the FCC you HAVE TO break in with broadcasting with severe weather storms or tornado. (something around those lines) If you don't broadcast the severe weather then you have to pay to broadcast your station I believe...could be wrong

Coltar would seem to be the vulnerable one. It would also make more sense that they do a morning show as it wouldn't interfere with evening TV broadcasts. Maybe they'll have a competing morning show on 1700 .

How Cotlar still has the morning spot (or any spot for that matter) on KXNO is beyond me. Sure the guy has connections and can get some good guests...he continually proves he has little to no knowledge of the sports going on around him. Almost ANY show would be better than his.

I agree. The guy does not appear to ever rad a newspaper or watch ESPN to know what is going on in the rear world of sports.

He does know his obscure blues bands though. So he's got that going for him, which is nice.
