Just sat through a 5.8 (reported) earthquake...

    ...in Southern California.

    That was weird.

Rome is talking about it and people from the midwest are talking smack about it!

Lived there for almost 5 years and know what you felt. It's definitely a "sensation".

Felt it down here in LaJolla, wife didn't feel it down near Downtown. This one was more of a "shaker", the really weird feeling comes with the "rollers".

I lived in LA for 8 years, out in the Valley. Not a fun experience to go through. I was in 3 of them, plus quite a few tremors. Kind of leaves you unsettled the first time you experience one.

Re: Just sat through a 5.8 (reported) earthquake...

A former work associate - he was referred to as the "rooster" in the office - was in LA when a fairly big earthquake struck. The female IT associates with him had GREAT FUN telling the entire office how he literally crawled under the desk. One of the times in my life I laughed so hard I cried and my stomach hurt.

Re: Just sat through a 5.8 (reported) earthquake...

I've been out here for 8 years, and this was the largest "rumble" that I have felt.

That said, it wasn't all that serious (thankfully).
