    Need help with Windows Vista

I want to remove some programs. All previous Windows programs had an Add/Remove feature in the Control Panel. Does this still exist in Vista? Thanks

Re: Need help with Windows Vista

I think you can switch to "classic" view and find it.

Hiding it is just and example of Microsoft trying to "help" you

Yeah, it's there, only it's labeled slightly differently now. Switch your control panel over to classical view and you should be able to find it (being that I'm away from my home computer that has Vista on it I can't lead you directly there right now).

Re: Need help with Windows Vista

It's now listed in a place called "Programs and Features" which is listed in the control panel, or you can just search for it in the start menu.

Re: Need help with Windows Vista

Vista gets a bad rap. I've used Vista Business on my laptop since October, and besides the initial "getting to know you" period, it's been fine. Office 2007 is different, especially Word, but programs like OneNote are fantastic. Yes, it's more of a memory hog than XP, but from an ease of use standpoint, it's fine once you get used to it.

Re: Need help with Windows Vista

I have two computers at home that have Vista (both new in the last 8 months) and I absolutely love it. Personally I won't be switching back to XP (that is, unless I'm at my work computer, which will likely have XP until Microsoft stops servicing it)

Re: Need help with Windows Vista

It's being reported that after Windows XP SP3 receives a couple of more weeks of real-world "testing", MS will be releasing Vista SP1A to the general public. Those who have tested Vista SP1A have reported greatly improved stability in the OS, as well as a different desktop layout, both of which are remarkably similar to the stability and desktop layout found XP SP3. Microsoft has declined to comment on the apparent similarity between the two.

No experience with Vista. Pretty much decided there was enough egg on its face that I didn't want to bother with it.

Re: Need help with Windows Vista

My advice would be to put xp pro on your pc. I have vista on a pretty new laptop of mine, but I pretty much only use my desktop now cause it has xp and vista is garbage. I don't even know where to begin...
