    Fanatic Support Group

I was just sitting here at my keyboard thinking about how much time I spend looking at Cyclone Fanatic. I think I might need help.

Let me know who else is dealing with the following:

    1. Must refresh the Fanatic Homepage every few minutes to see if we have a new coach.
    2. Wonder constantly if it's Harbaugh...if Brewster is a decoy...can an NFL coach be lured to Ames...why not Pelini?
    3. Think about whether is angry, talkative or decapitated and still trying to talk?
    4. Sick of reading how we're a coaching graveyard.
    5. Wonder how you ascend the ranks of membership and how many points someone actually gets when you click the checkmark.
    6. Curious if Jeff Johnson goes home at night and leads cheers: This side "Dinner" this side "now."

Of course, I'm also wondering if a new coach has been announced in the time I've spent writing this. I think there's hope that I at least recognize the warning signs.

I hate to admit it, but I've spent some time hitting the refresh button too. I only checked the site 12 times today. I do better when I'm away from the computer, but if I'm in front of it, I've been checking every 10 minutes or so.

    Re: Fanatic Support Group

LOL, that sounds like the making of an ISU TV commercial! Open with Jeff's family decked out in ISU apparel, wife in the kitchen and Jeff and kids impatiently waiting at the table. Jeff starts out "dinner!" then the other side of the table "now!" Wife brings in the dish and the table errupts with cheers! then some corny voice over promoting the next ISU game.

I think we have ourselves a new ISU commercial! :)

    Re: Fanatic Support Group

i, too, am an addict. i have checked the site daily since i first signed up...but ever since i started posting back in august it has led to things like
    • loss of sleep
    • loss of work productivity
    • increase appetite for all things cyclone sports related
    • increase in eye drops to refresh my dry contacts
    • an intense need to "know it first"
    • a heroin-like addiction to that little grey box that pops up indicating a new PM
    • thinking..."is cyclonekj online now??"...
i could go on...but, i have to get back and refresh the page to see if i've missed anything. i can always edit my list later.

We should arrange a meeting of the CFA (Cyclone Fanatic's Anonymous). I will bring a laptop to stay updated during the meeting.

Virtual meeting. Chat room maybe? That seems to be the thing kids are up to these days.

Jeff Johnson works the weirdest hours... I've seen him (and his sick maroon BMW) at that little Alumni building by Oak-Elm as late as 11:30 PM some nights (usually Thursday night since that's the only consistent time I go to my car)

I'm right there with you. (I almost started a thread for CycloneFanatic-Addicts a while back.) It's crazy how this site just sucks you in...
