What a ripoff. It is still the same price here as it was when it was $140 a barrel.

The speculative funds are running for the hills right now nervous about government future restrictions on funds and their positions in energies markets.

Re: Wow, oil under $125 a barrell

It's gone down 10 cents here in Des Moines. It's a sad day when 3.89 looks like an attractive price.

Still baffling how the prices shoot up when oil goes up, but take their time going down when the price of oil sinks.

I'm in eastern Iowa. It's much more in Illinois. Gas was 30 cents more expensive about a half hour drive from me. I was in Chicago on Monday and it was $4.45.

Let's hope that oil continues it's downward spiral, but also that our government doesn't develop a case of ADD and forget to deal with the issue as well. Continue the progress towards tapping all domestic sources while committing to a changeover to alternative energy sources. Otherwise, we will be one streak of bad news away from the same situation.

I've come around on this issue, let the oil companies drill. Clearly, it's not going to have any immediate impact, but the oil, when it can finally be used, will be suitable for other purposes other than gasoline when alternative sources of energy have taken hold.

It definitely has to be a combination- if you open up the drilling, but fail to develop alternative sources, eventually we will be back in the same boat.

I saw $3.60 today by the Meskwaki Casino. I couldn't believe it. I filled up and washed my car with with it!

Maybe it hasn't come down in Des Moines, but here in Kansas City we have dropped 22 cents in a week..... Of course maybe that just means we were getting gouged more to begin with.
