Seems about right - just a big 'ol bowl of O.K.

I would say that review is pretty much spot on.

    Re: Athlon preview

I liked Brandtner's quote. He's probably the only player that wants less playing time.

I don't think I'm alone when I say I'd like to see more and more planets fall under the ruthless domination of our solar system.

    Re: Athlon preview

I'd say this is the most accurate/realistic preview I've seen yet. It's not as gloomy as Phil Steele's. It indicates we should improve, and due to the schedule, a bowl trip isn't out of the question if some holes on the defense are filled and one of our QBs pans out.

    Re: Athlon preview

It's really eye opening when you see teams like Minnesota, Duke, UCF, Ball State, Florida Atlantic, Indiana and Houston all ranked above us.

That is where most of the nation sees us. We really have to do something special in the next couple of years to put us on the map. Winning 6 games this year would be a GREAT start.

    Re: Athlon preview

i have been a fan of athlon's college football previews for a few years now. they seem to have very accurate information and a good grasp on all 119 teams. by far my favorite preseason publication.

Where else do you think we should be? Not to be a downer but we have only won more than 7 games in over 20 years ONE time. We are 5-17 in the last 2 years.

We got better for a while, but we need to get on a roll again.

    2003 2-10
    2006 4-8
    2007 3-9

Those aren't exactly great numbers in the last 5 years.

    We will get there. Soon.
