    Beat Iowa State

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvgGbY65MnA&feature=related"]YouTube - Beat Iowa State[/ame]

This is pretty cool, I don't know what it has to do with ISU but that voice you hear with the gravel voice is George Patton. "We are going to go through them like crap through a goose." The older I get, the braver they are.

From the more info section of the video:

    CU vs ISU Pregame

42-54 Record in CF Mafia. The most games played and wins by any player in Cyclone Fanatic History. Yes, I'm a nerd.

This is pretty cool, but don't get the beat ISU thing. All I think is that Colorado is scared that ISU may have jumped them in improvement! I think if everthing works out Chizik has us at a level that may be unpresidented. Everyone is scared of what we can or may do this year. I truly believe we can be a bowl team this year, all it will take it beat the teams we are expected to beat and take a couple surprise wins. All other teams know we are going to be a force to reckon with!

I don't think too many teams are worried about ISU. Nobody takes us seriously yet, and a loss to us is considered devistating in the big 12, just like most of us would consider a home loss to Baylor to be a disaster. We are the Baylor of the big 12 North in everyone elses eyes.

    Re: Beat Iowa State

Good production, I did find it odd that they chose to use the gentlemen from the 101st AB at the start followed by the voice over of Patton. From everything I have ever heard out of those men was that they didn't have too much love for him.

I am wondering if this video was actually made prior to our game with them in '06, seems like it would be a pre-game video or something. Only reason I can think of for the title of the video.

It's annoying that they show two views of every play.

    Re: Beat Iowa State

The Colorado game made our season. With that being said, anyone ever thought about what happens if Hawkins doesn't get greedy on 4th down? He punts there, and we don't win that game. If we don't win that game, I'm not sure we have the enthusiasm we do heading into this year. Amazing how much impact one play can have on a game/season/future.

Glad we don't have to worry about it.

    Re: Beat Iowa State

I recognize the video was highlights, however, they all came from one game. What I noticed MOST was execution, especially on defense. If that is anywhere NEAR the norm, and CU can get players - that team will be a force in the B12.

Now, let's see what Chizik's 2nd year team will do. I for one am incredibly positive - and I see us being this years version of CU from last year. Maybe better, I think we have some wild cards in the mix in terms of impact players.

ISU fans are the greatest in the world. All they ask for is hope and the belief that we have a chance to win every time we step on the field - Johnny Majors (paraphrased)

    Re: Beat Iowa State

The video was added on Dec. 15, 2006, which was a month after they beat us 33-16 in Boulder.

It was the pregame video that was played on the big screen.

    Re: Beat Iowa State

Your kidding! Somebody actually spent time to make that! I hope they were high or getting paid to make that video... 'cause otherwise that was a complete waste of time. Whoever made it must have put their brain in neutral for the night.

"Hmm... Let's take some hip-hop, rip a strip from Band of Brothers, sprinkle some Mel Gibson, add a pound of George C. Scott, and put it into a very small salad bowl of video highlights... Six minutes later, vala.. walla.... uh.... tada! I'm dumb." -video's producer that night

I feel really sorry for the Colorado fans that had to endure that at the game. Nobody should have to watch that.

It was a disrespectful, unoriginal video that lacked cohesive thought.

So I'm sure all the hippies in Boulder enjoyed it thoroughly

That is an excellent analysis. I said to myself and my buddy at the exact same time they went for the 4th and 2 instead of the punt on their own 45 yard line that we were going to come from behind and beat them. I have never seen that unseen force called momentum more evident.

    Re: Beat Iowa State

Surely they didn't actually play that before the game, right? First, the song is boooring. Nothing like an R&B slow jam to get me pumped up. Second, that's a lot of war and killing references for a sporting event. Can anyone say Kellen "I'm a soldier!" Winslow?
