No idea who this Papa fellow is, but I think a 80 year old woman with Tourette's would be better than Gumbel.

Bob Papa is on the NFL Network radio program on Sirius. He seems to know his stuff. I personally enjoy listening to him.

Can't stand Bryant Gumbel. Greg Gumbel is pretty tolerable.

I believe he also is involved with the NY Giants radio broadcast.

"It's a touchback, so the [team name here] will take over at the 35."

    Yes he actually said that.

The best one I ever caught was him calling Tony Romo...Rick Romo.

There's gotta be a website that has a compiled list of all his bonehead calls.

Greg went to college somewhere in IA, I think. Maybe Coe?

Re: Gumbel Replaced at NFL Network

When the first Gumbal got famous, I thought he was pretty good. But too much exposure ruined it for me and when you have two of them that doesn't take much. At least one of them has a connection to a small college in the state of Iowa, so they can't be all bad.

No, the best was the one that was once in someone's signature where Gumbell said "the Bengals go into the hurry-up offense" as the camera is pointed straight at the Bengals' huddle and the Bengals' offense is clearly taking their time.
