    Football Info

    ESPN - Big 12
Some information I hadn't seen before. I knew Chizik didn't end up playing a lot at Florida but had never heard this:
    10. Gene Chizik, Iowa State: His career as a linebacker ended prematurely at Florida after he contracted an unusual career-ending illness that doctors initially feared was colon cancer.

The TV revenue has been discussed before but here it is again. For reference when looking at it, if it was all given out evenly everyone would get $7.79m or in other words $0.95m more for ISU.

And fall practice starts on the 1st.

When all is said and done, more is said than done

How many D1 coaches didn't play in college? I thought I heard around 5 but not sure. Some coaches sure don't look like they played, but then I find out they were actually pretty good back in the day.

They are picking 9 Big 12 teams to go bowling (all but Baylor, us, and K-State). I think we can clime into that pile. Texas and Independence bowls look feasible.

Locker room bulletin board fodder if I ever saw it.

I'd be interested, too, how this looked last year. Where was KU? Mizzou? NU?

Very interesting on Chizik's playing days. Bet he can really relate with those that have had health issues (Milan Moses comes to mind) and injuries.

Didn't know that about Chizik. Everything else wasn't worth reading.

Missouri was at the top, just ahead of Nebraska.

Vince Lombardi didn't play football either, but he did OK.

Gene Keady didn't play basketball either, he played football.
