    BEER: Sunshine

New Belgium's Sunshine is now available in Iowa. I just picked some up at the Valley West Hy-Vee.

    Re: BEER: Sunshine

more exciting than that is last month Iowa finally started getting Big Sky brews out of Missoula. Mmmmm. Moose Drool is probably their most popular but try the Trout Slayer Ale. And where is New Belgium's Skinny Dip...my favorite summertime beer.

Skinny Dip won't be available in IA this summer. It is seasonal but will be here next summer. That is straight from NBB.

    Re: BEER: Sunshine

Sunshine is MUCH better, IMO, than Mothership. I'm not a huge fan of wheat beers in general, but I can drink Sunshine.

I've never been a huge fan of Moose Drool either (sort of my Spotted Cow or Fat Tire reaction: it's alright, but I don't see why everyone gets worked up about it), but Big Sky has a VERY serviceable IPA. I haven't tried many of the rest of their lineup, but more micros in Iowa is never a bad thing!

I am having a sunshine right now, I was just going to post that I like mothership a lot more than sunshine. It is more of a traditional wheat beer with all the nice chum floating around in it.

Yep, mothership is unfiltered. It is a good beer. However, Sunshine is my favorite beer. I drink lot of beer but Sunshine is one that I always have in my fridge.

It arrived just in time as well as I was down to one 12 pack from CO of the ten 12 packs I brought back last time I was out.

The price is in Iowa, though, it outrageous. Nearly $9 for six pack. I believe it went for about $7 a six in CO and typically on sale somewhere for $6.50.

Where have you been finding Big Sky stuff? My wife's family lives in Montana and I always drink a ton of the stuff when I'm up there.

    Re: BEER: Sunshine

Yeah, I saw that... I wish they would brew up a batch of the "Loft" again!!! That is the best summer beer I've ever had. Unfortunately I think it was a one-time thing in 2004 :-(
