    Re: Sweet Corn is here!!

I hate you all - acutally I may be making a run up to see some ol' friends in the next couple of weeks. Last time I made it up to Ames I bought more than 10 dozen to bring back to H-Town. Let's just say my neighbors got to know/ like me a bit more after that!

The crap they sell in the stores down here is feed for the cattle at best.

Oh, when I worked in produce back in high school we'd get corn shipments from like florida and california and that crap tasted not good at all. All the kernals were really small and weren't very juicy.

What is all your guys favorite way of cooking corn? Has anyone every put the whole husk and on the grill and let it cook that way? I want to know some good ways to cook it up tonight

I have put it on the grill in the husk, but my preferred method is to remove the husk, coat in butter, then wrap with foil and place on the grill...

I go out a relative's place and pick a WHOLE bunch. We eat some on the cob obviously, but then we take a bunch and cut it off the cob, bag it, and freeze it.

The corn you buy in the store is terrible, nothing like eating the good stuff all year long.

Two years ago we froze a bunch of it on the cob...it actually was pretty good later on but took up a bunch of freezer space.

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

I think a lot of the regular stands are up and running by now. I know my regular guy along NW Beaver just south of 66th Ave is selling.

    Re: Sweet Corn is here!!

I love when there is a big picnic or event where they have a tub of sweet corn and a bucket of melted butter next to it to dip it in. Sometimes they even have a few seasonings to throw on. Yummmmmmm

How long do you grill it and how do you put it on the grill?
